In November of 2010 Iowa voters will decide to pass an amendment to the state Constitution allowing the next sales tax increase to place three-eights of one cent into a trust fund for Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation. This fund will allocate monies to improve wildlife habitat, soil conservation, parks, trails and much more. The fund will bring in an estimated $150 million a year.
The only other states to approve such an amendment are Missouri, Arkansas and Minnesota. Measures like these will help to remediate the area’s resources to help wildlife flourish.
