The ERV (Energy Recover Ventilator) is installed in the mechanical room and pulls exhaust air from the bathrooms. This replaces bath fans traditionally installed in the house. Instead of dumping all the exhaust air outside the house and depending on leaks to make of for the air removed and was installed. The ERV exchanges the conditioned air with fresh outside air that is tempered with the outgoing air stream. This reduces the amount of energy needed to heat or cool the fresh air coming into the house depending on the season.

The buttons located in the bathrooms ramps up the speed of the ERV so it effectively removes moisture and other contaminants from the air for a preset amount of time.
